Will 'hang' anyone who obstructs oxygen supply: Delhi HC
The observation was made by the bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Rekha Palli during hearing of a plea by Maharaja Agrasen Hospital over shortage of oxygen. The Delhi High Court said if any official at the central, state or local administration was obstructing in the picking up or supply of oxygen, then it would "hang" that person. It said whoever obstructs oxygen supply, will not be spared.
Apex Laboratories gets approval for CleVira as Covid supportive drug
Apex Laboratories said it has got the approval from the Ministry of Ayush for its antiviral drug Clevira as a supporting measure for mild to moderate condition of Covid-19. The company said this is the first of its kind approval in India through various stages of scrutiny at The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences and Interdisciplinary Technical Review Committee.
Union govt's procured vaccine to be given free to states
"It is clarified that the Govt of India's procurement price for both #COVID19 vaccines remains at Rs 150 per dose. GOI procured doses will continue to be provided TOTALLY FREE to States," said a tweet by the Health Ministry. Many Chief Ministers have written to the Prime Minister and Congress interim President Sonia Gandgi had also written to PM Modi expressing concern over different pricing for vaccines.
Rajnath reviews Covid situation with service chiefs
Rajnath singh held a Covid-19 situation review meeting with Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs, Defense Secretary, Chairman DRDO, DG AFMS and other senior officials of the ministry. Further, Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) has deployed additional doctors, including specialists, super specialists and paramedics, at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (SVP) COVID hospital in Delhi to cater to the current surge in Covid cases.
IAF to bring in Oxygen tankers to cater to surging demand
The first set of four containers coming from Singapore will land in Panagarh later Saturday evening. IAF said that one C-17 got airborne at 2 a.m. from Hindon Air Base for Changi International Airport, Singapore. The aircraft arrived at Singapore at 7.45 am. "After loading 4 containers of cryogenic oxygen tanks, it will depart from Singapore, land at Panagarh air base and offload these containers by this evening," IAF said.
Hospitals continue to make SOS calls for oxygen in Delhi
Moolchand Hospital, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH), Batra Hospital and Jaipur Golden hospital reported shortage of oxygen and appealed to the authority to arrange it at the earliest.

Justice NV Ramana sworn-in as new Chief Justice of India

20 Covid patients die at Delhi hospital due to low oxygen pressure
According to the hospital, "A supply of 3.5 metric tonnes of oxygen was supposed to reach by 5 p.m. yesterday. But it reached around midnight. By then, 20 patients had died."
