Gave some financial aid for Covaxin, Covishield trials, not R&D: Govt

In an affidavit, the Centre said that Covaxin has been developed under public private partnership (PPP) between the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Bharat Biotech International Ltd (BBIL). The PPP was executed under a formal MoU between the ICMR and the BBIL which includes a 5 per cent royalty clause for the ICMR on net sales and other clauses like prioritisation of in-country supplies.
Delhi cautiously optimistic as Covid rate dips throughout week

The national capital's Covid positivity rate has come down to 19.10 per cent on Sunday (May 9), the lowest since April 16 when it stood at 19.7 per cent, according to the data shared by the Delhi government on Monday. The rate has been dipping since last one week. On Saturday, it was at 21.67 per cent, on Friday at 23.34 per cent, on Thursday at 24.92 per cent, on Wednesday at 24.29 per cent, on Tuesday at 26.37 per cent.
Tikri border rape accused will be brought to justice: Vij

Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij described the crime on the pretext of agitation as unfortunate. "Each and every accused would be arrested," Vij told the media in Ambala city. The state police have registered a case against six people on the complaint of the victim's father, who alleged that the accused, who were associated with the Kisan Social Army, travelled with her in a train from West Bengal on April 10.
45 decomposed bodies found in Ganga in Bihar's Buxar

"During preliminary investigation, it has appeared that the dead bodies are in decomposed state and more than 5 to 6 days old. We are interacting with our counterparts in Varanasi and Allahabad (Prayagraj) to investigate the incident and intensify vigil in the areas located on the banks of the Ganga," Buxar SDO K.K. Upadhyay said.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, North West told IANS, "A Look our notice has been issued against Kumar." According to senior police officials, Kumar has been absconding after 23-year-old Sagar Rana, was beaten to death during a brawl at Chhatrasal Stadium. On May 4, an incident of a brawl among wrestlers was reported at Chhatrasal Stadium.
India beats US, China in fastest Covid inoculation; 17 Cr in 114 days

India achieved the goal of administering vaccines in 114 days, while the US touched the figure in 115 days and China took 119 days for reaching the same landmark. A total of 17,01,76,603 vaccine doses have been administered through 24,70,799 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 a.m. on Monday.
Look out notice against Navneet Kalra in O2 concentrators case

A senior Crime Branch source related to the probe told IANS, "We have issued lookout notice against Kalra, who has been absconding after the recovery of Oxygen concentrators from several famous restaurants." The action comes almost four days after the police recovered the oxygen concentrators from Delhi's eateries.
West Bengal woman 'raped' while going to farmers protest site at Tikri border, six booked

The 25-year-old woman later died due to a Covid-19 infection at a Delhi hospital, according to police. Six persons including the two main accused have been named in the FIR.  The police said that they are after the accused men and have formed a team to look into the matter after the victim's father filed the FIR.
