Air Chief Marshal A P Singh on Saturday praised 'Operation Sindoor' as a powerful show of the Indian Air Force's unparalleled power and effectiveness in battle.
The operation, following the latest terror attack in Pahalgam, was painted as a distinct example of the IAF's capability to attack quickly, precisely, and with crushing effect.
In his address to the Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) at the Air Force Academy in Dundigal, which is near Hyderabad, Singh stressed how the operation brought out the impeccable integration and coordination among the various arms of the military. He asked the newly commissioned officers to continue this culture of harmony through their careers.
"As the future of the Indian Air Force, graduating officers need to realize that the Air Force has been and will always be the first responder," he stated, adding, "It is our duty as a team to live up to the faith reposed in the Indian Air Force by every citizen of India, and we need to be ready and prepared for this."
He pointed to the growing sophistication of contemporary warfare and emphasized the need for ongoing learning. The young officers, he added, will have to "train and retrain" in order to remain effective in high-stakes situations.
Emphasizing the evolution of the IAF as a full-fledged aerospace force, Singh noted that several of the young officers will one day play leading roles in India's space programs. To be successful in these demanding assignments, he said, they will have to be deeply committed, thinking ahead, and passionate.
He also instructed the officers to take care of physical as well as mental health and work on developing their personalities through a disciplined and wholesome way of life.
The parade was the culmination of intensive pre-commissioning training of flight cadets belonging to different wings of the IAF. During the ceremony, Air Chief Marshal Singh invested the two newly inducted officers with the 'President's Commission'.
As a part of the celebrations, 'Wings' were awarded to IAF flight cadets, and officers of the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and an officer from Vietnam, all representing the successful completion of their respective courses.
