'Of course, it will': IAF Chief says Rafale induction has caused worries in Chinese camp

Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief RKS Bhadauria on Thursday said that the induction of Rafale aircraft has created worries in the Chinese camp. The IAF chief said that the Chinese discomfiture became evident as they deployed J-20 fighter jets near the Indian territory immediately after the IAF inducted the Rafale jets.

He noted that there have been some pullbacks from the air deployment view and changes in deployment from the Chinese side. On the contrary, there have been some activities like strengthening their air defense capabilities. So, the deployments have not been reduced rather, being strengthened.

"Of course, it will," he replied when asked if Rafale aircraft has caused worries in the Chinese camp

"They had brought their J-20 fighter aircraft (to areas close to Eastern Ladakh) and they go off from there but that is the flexibility of airpower. The moment Indian Rafales were brought in, their J-20 was there. We know their actions and capabilities and we are taking the required steps," said the IAF chief noting the actions and capabilities of the Chinese side.

The military standoff between the troops of India along the LAC is continuing since early April-May of 2020. During clashes between troops of India and China on June 15 in Galwan, 20 Indian soldiers and an unspecified number of Chinese soldiers were killed.
