India is celebrating its 75th Independence Day today. On this historic occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered his custamory speech from Red Fort, one of the most iconic historic places in India. Addressing the nation for the eighth consecutive time from the Red Fort, theprime minister laid out the plan for the next 25 years before the nation. PM Modi had delivered his first Independence Day speech in 2014 after taking over as the prime minister of India for the very first time. PM Modi recited a poem in which told the countrymen that "now is the time" (यही समय है, सही समय है) for them to realise their true potential, deliver their best and change the destiny of the motherland.

1. PM Modi started his greeting by paying tribute to the freedom fighter, who sacrificed their everything for their motherland. He Said “ I would like to start by conveying greeting on this special occasion of Independence Day. This is a day to remember the sacrifices of our freedom fighters.

2. Further, PM said it is high time when the nation needs to apply scientific researches and suggestions to the Agriculture sector to boost the production of food and to provide food security in the nation. He also said that the nation needs to empower the small farmer and make them the pride of India. The Prime Minister said: "It is time we apply scientific research and suggestions in our agriculture sector. We need to reap all its benefits. It will not just provide food security to the nation, but will also increase food production."

3. To empower the small businesses and the hardworking women of India, PM Modi said the government is soon going to launch an e-commerce platform for the products made by women self-help groups (SHGs) in villages. Praising the SHGs in the rural area, Modi said there are more than eight crore women in the villages who are associated with them.

4. Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Pryaas: Addressing the nation, PM said we as a citizen of India need to come together and become a power to achieving all the goals. "There comes a time in the development journey of every country, when that country redefines itself, moves forward with new resolutions. Today that time has come in India's development journey...Starting from here, the journey of the next 25 years is the 'Amrit' of the creation of a new India. The fulfillment of our resolves in this 'Amrit Kaal' will take us till 100 years of independence," said the Prime Minister.

5.  PM Modi announced that the government will stress the rice distributed to the poor via different schemes such as Midday Meal in a bid to address the problem of malnutrition. "Malnutrition and lack of micro-nutrients are affecting the growth of poor children. Looking at this, it has been decided to fortify the rice given to the poor via different government schemes," Modi said in his Independence Day speech.

6. Gati Shakti: India is soon going to launch a 100 trillion rupee ($1.35 trillion) national infrastructure plan that is going to generate jobs for the citizens and will boost the declining economy of the country, PM said. The program will be called "Gati Shakti" and will help boost the productivity of industries.

7. Reservation is being ensured for Dalits, STs, backward and general category poor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday in his Independence Day address and stressed that the hand-holding of deprived communities is necessary. "We have to bridge the gap between lives in villages and cities," the prime minister said.

8. While addressing the nation, PM applauded the scientist and said that it is the result of the strength of our industrialists and scientists, that today India does not need to depend on any other nation for COVID-19 vaccines.

9. PM Modi said that India is fighting the challenges posed by terrorism and expansionism and the country is responding with great courage in a tactful manner. He also added that the "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" will be celebrated for 75 weeks and 75 Vande Bharat trains will connect different parts of the country during this period.
