Mitsotakis lauded India's growing stature as a consensus builder and voice of reason in an increasingly polarized world, positioning it as a key ally in the pursuit of peace and security. He emphasized India's prominent role in global forums such as the G20 and its leadership in combating climate change.
Highlighting the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), Mitsotakis positioned Greece as a strategic gateway to Europe, emphasizing the corridor's potential as a catalyst for peace and prosperity. Despite challenges in the Middle East, he stressed the enduring logic behind the IMEC and urged stakeholders to redouble their efforts to realize its potential.
Regarding the conflict in Ukraine, Mitsotakis characterized it as a broader challenge to international stability and underscored India's crucial role in upholding the rules-based order. He called for collective action and highlighted India's voice as essential in addressing the crisis.
Delving into geopolitical challenges, Mitsotakis emphasized the Indo-Pacific as a major focus for the European Union and addressed the importance of democratic values in addressing societal challenges. He emphasized the need for mutual respect and dialogue in fostering inclusive governance.
Reflecting on India-Greece relations, Mitsotakis noted the progress made and highlighted Greece's potential as a bridge between India and Europe, as well as between the Global North and Global South.
