During clashes between troops of India and China on June 15 in Galwan, 20 Indian soldiers and an unspecified number of Chinese soldiers were killed.

Jaishanbkar said, “After 45 years, you’ve had bloodshed on the border." He added, "And that’s had a huge impact on public opinion and politically, really the impact on trust and confidence in India were China and their relationship is concerned. That has been profoundly disturbed.”

He also said that later, China brought an enormous military force to one part of the border for reasons that are not clear to us.

Both the countries have deployed tens of thousands of troops along the LAC, who are backed by artillery and armoured formations. The various rounds of diplomatic talks between India and China brought no solutions to the tense situations along the border in Ladakh.
