Uttar Pradesh: Journalist found dead in Unnao, cops booked

The slain scribe has been identified as Suraj Pandey. His mother Laxmi Devi has accused a woman inspector Sunita Chaurasia, constable Amar Singh and others of threatening her son and driving him to his death.

A journalist has been found dead in Unnao of Uttar Pradesh whose body was recovered from a nearby railway crossing in Unnao district.

The slain scribe has been identified as Suraj Pandey. His mother Laxmi Devi has accused a woman inspector Sunita Chaurasia, constable Amar Singh and others of threatening her son and driving him to his death.

CO (City), Gaurav Tripathi said that the journalist alleged to have killed himself. His body was found on the tracks at Sadar Kotwail under mysterious circumstances, on Thursday evening .

The post mortem was carried out later in the night. He said that the case has been registered against the woman inspector and the constable and further action would be taken after investigations in the matter.

Pandey's mortal remains were cremated on Friday at Ganga Ghat in Kanpur.
