Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, said that INS Vikrant is a unique reflection of India's self-reliance. He made this remark while he commissioned INS Vikrant, India's first indigenously built Indian Aircraft Carrier, in Kochi, Kerala. PM Modi also unveiled the new Naval Ensign, during the event, and dedicated the Ensign to Chhatrapati Shivaji. INS Vikrant is designed by the Navy's in-house Warship Design Bureau (WDB) and constructed by Cochin Shipyard Limited. It boasts state-of-the-art weapons and navigation and automation features.
