On Saturday, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri firmly dismissed Pakistan's "ridiculous claims" that Indian missiles had hit Afghanistan as "wholly frivolous accusations."
Speaking to the media with Indian Army Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Air Force Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, Misri urged the Afghan people to remember which country had repeatedly attacked civilian infrastructure inside Afghanistan.
He said, "The people of Afghanistan don't need to be reminded which nation has been repeatedly attacking civilian populations and infrastructure in Afghanistan in the last one-and-a-half years," cleverly alluding to Pakistan's destabilizing activities in Afghanistan.
Misri also criticized Pakistan's efforts to distort international narratives by false projection of India as the perpetrator. He accused Islamabad of pursuing a "desperate misinformation campaign" aimed at defaming India.
Reacting to the Pakistan Army spokesperson's statement regarding so-called dissatisfaction among the public in India, Misri said, "The Pakistan Army spokesperson appears to take satisfaction from the notion that the Indian public must criticize their government. It may shock Pakistan to witness citizens echoing such views in an operational democracy. Pakistan's unfamiliarity with such a fundamental tenet of democracy is no surprise."
Additionally, Misri strongly dismissed Pakistan's baseless claims that India had launched missiles against a place of worship, i.e., a gurdwara. He maintained, "Pakistan's officials keep making ridiculous assertions that India has attacked a gurdwara. These mischievous efforts to create discord in India will fall flat."
Misri’s sharp remarks followed his earlier accusations against Pakistan for deliberately targeting religious sites and schools belonging to minorities, while attempting to falsely attribute the attacks to Indian forces. “We have seen Pakistan targeting and shelling places of worship, including gurdwaras, convents, and temples. This represents a new low, even for Pakistan,” Misri had emphasized, describing Pakistan's attempts to deceive the international community as reflecting an "evil design.
