Quoting from the post-mortem findings, police sources informed IANS that Neha sustained multiple stab wounds to her neck, severing crucial blood vessels and leading to profuse bleeding, ultimately resulting in her demise.

Initial accounts suggest that the assailant initially struck Neha's chest and abdomen. Subsequently, as she collapsed, he continued his onslaught, relentlessly stabbing her across her body. Additionally, he made an attempt to slit her throat.

Neha Hiremath, a student pursuing an MCA degree at BVB College in Hubballi, fell victim to the wrath of her spurned lover, Fayaz Kondikoppa. The two had previously been classmates during their BCA studies and shared a friendship, albeit one-sided.

Following their BCA studies, Fayaz discontinued his education, while Neha continued with her academic pursuits. Tragically, their friendship took a sinister turn when Fayaz, fueled by unrequited affection, perpetrated the heinous act.

Speaking out, Neha's father, a Congress corporator, asserted that the accused had persistently sought to coerce his daughter into a relationship. "Upon facing rejection, he orchestrated, with assistance from accomplices, the gruesome and fatal attack," he asserted.
