French President Emmanuel Macron Arrives in Jaipur

As the esteemed chief guest for the Republic Day celebrations in Delhi on January 26, Macron's visit to Jaipur involves a comprehensive exploration of the city's iconic landmarks. This includes a visit to the picturesque Amber Palace and active participation in a roadshow alongside Prime Minister Modi.

The official talks between the two leaders are scheduled to take place at the lavish Rambagh Palace hotel later in the evening.

Upon arrival, the French delegation was warmly received by Governor Kalraj Mishra and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma at the airport. Prime Minister Modi, currently on a visit to Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr, is expected to join Macron in Jaipur later.

Macron's itinerary in the Pink City encompasses visits to the historic Amber Fort, the astronomical marvel of Jantar Mantar, and the enchanting Hawa Mahal.

This visit holds special significance for Prime Minister Modi as it marks his first trip to Rajasthan after the recent assembly polls, where his Bharatiya Janata Party emerged victorious, overthrowing the Congress government.

The Macron-Modi roadshow is anticipated to commence from Jantar Mantar, traversing through the city's vibrant streets and concluding at the stunning Hawa Mahal. Unofficial reports suggest that Macron might engage in some shopping at the touristy locale.

Although not officially confirmed, a local trader, proprietor of the Sahu teashop, hinted that the leaders may pause for a cup of his renowned masala tea, emphasizing that the payment would be facilitated through digital means, specifically UPI.

In preparation for this notable visit, cutouts and hoardings have been strategically placed at various locations in Jaipur, highlighting the sites earmarked for Modi and Macron's visit.
