Direct flights from India to Canada resuming from today | Here're guidelines

A statement issued by the Canadian government notified that the restrictions would be plausible till 26th September. The ban has been lifted after 6 months, prior to which two were operating daily under an air bubble arrangement between the two governments.

Canada is resuming direct flights from India from Monday, 5 months after suspending their operation in April this year amidst the second Covid wave. The Canadian government issued a statement saying “As of September 27, 2021, direct flights from India to Canada will resume.” The ban was lifted after test results of passengers of three Air Canada flights came out to be negative. The Canadian government had extended restrictions on all direct commercial and private passenger flights from India last Tuesday. Here are the guidelines and precautionary measures that one needs to keep in check:

1. Each passenger should carry a negative Covid test report and the test should be taken not more than 18 hours before the flight time.

2. Eligibility would be checked by airline officials to make sure that the passenger is eligible of flying to Canada or not.

3. Passengers who are fully vaccinated would have to upload relevant documents on the ArriveCAN app or website whatever is convenient.

4. If any passenger is found to be not meeting these requirements would be denied entry into the plane by the officials.

5. Passengers flying via indirect flight would have to obtain a negative Covid test result from the third country before boarding the plane to Canada.
