Delhi Temperature Drops to 6.8°C; Air Quality 'Satisfactory' at Multiple Stations

On Friday, the national capital experienced a minimum temperature of 6.8 degrees Celsius, marking a notable drop from the seasonal average, as reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Despite bright sunshine during the daytime, residents of Delhi continued to endure chilly winds, with many seen congregating around bonfires to keep warm at night.

Air quality in several areas of the city showed improvement at 9 a.m., falling within the 'satisfactory' and 'moderate' categories. This comes as a surprise after days of being categorized as 'very poor' and 'severe' in terms of air quality.

In the Anand Vihar area, PM2.5 levels were measured at 218, classified as 'poor', while PM10 reached 289, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The Air Quality Index (AQI) categorization ranges from 'good' to 'severe', with specific thresholds for each category.

At the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport (T3), PM2.5 levels were recorded at 84, considered 'satisfactory', while PM10 stood at 117, falling under the 'moderate' category.

In Dwarka Sector 8, PM2.5 levels were observed at 193, with PM10 at 312. These readings provide insights into the air quality across different parts of the city, highlighting the ongoing efforts to monitor and address environmental concerns.
