Delhi records first death due to dengue in 2021

A total of 720 dengue cases so far has been recorded, out of which 382 dengue cases have been reported in the month till October 16, according to SDMC reports. 142 malaria cases and 69 chikungunya cases have also been reported till now in 2021, according to these reports.

South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Monday recorded the first death due to dengue in Delhi. The case count of dengue and other mosquito-borne disease has seen a sudden spike in the month of October in the national capital.

A total of 720 dengue cases so far has been recorded, out of which 382 dengue cases have been reported in the month till October 16, according to SDMC reports.

142 malaria cases and 69 chikungunya cases have also been reported till now in 2021, according to these reports. However, no death due to malaria or chikungunya has been reported so far.

Compared to the previous three years' records, the national capital has reported the highest number of dengue cases for the month of September. The cases recorded for the month of September in Delhi is 217.
