A day before the Diwali festival, smog covered Delhi skies on Wednesday as parts of the national capital remained in the 'very poor' category, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of over 300 recorded at around 7 am, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
AQI was 351 at 7 am in Anand Vihar. AQI Bawana stood at 319 and Ashok Vihar reported 351 while Wazipur reported 327 coming under the 'very poor' category. On the other hand, Aya Nagar reported AQI as 290 that comes in the 'poor' category, while Delhi's ITO stands at 284 in the 'poor' category, reported by ANI.
Not to mention that a toxic foam has surfaced on the Yamuna River in Kalindi Kunj. The pollution level continues to remain high in the river.
The AQI for the past one week remains to be in the very poor category in Delhi.
While the air quality at the Bandra Reclamation area in Mumbai remained in the 'Moderate' category.
