India recorded 5,784 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which is the lowest number of daily Covid cases the country has recorded in the past 571 days, as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data released on Tuesday. The country's weekly positivity rate was at 0.68 per cent which remained below 1 per cent for the last 30 days and the daily positivity rate also remained below 2 per cent for the last 71 days at 0.58 per cent. The cumulative tally of vaccinated citizens in the country increased to 133.88 crores on Tuesday morning. A total of 66,98,601 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours. More than 17.06 crore balance and unutilised Covid-19 vaccine doses are still available with the states and UTs, the Ministry added.

1. With the 252 new fatalities in the last 24 hours, the nationwide death toll rose to 4,75,888.
2. The recovery of 7,995 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered to 3,41,38,763.
The country's recovery rate stands at 98.37 per cent, the highest since March 2020.
3. Current active covid cases in the country stands at 88,993, which is the lowest in 563 days and it accounts for 0.26 per cent of the country's total positive case which is also the lowest since March 2020.
