Ayodhya's ADM Surjit Singh Found Dead Under Mysterious Circumstances

Reports claim that bloodstains have been witnessed on the floor of his room; however, the reason behind his death is unclear for now. Senior police officials and forensic teams are at the spot and studying the site.

Ayodhya's Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Law and Order, Surjeet Singh was found dead in his official residence in Sursari Colony Civil Line on Thursday. The dead body was discovered by the housemaid. She had reported it to the authorities after some time.

Reports claim that bloodstains have been witnessed on the floor of his room; however, the reason behind his death is unclear for now. Senior police officials and forensic teams are at the spot and studying the site.
 The cops started the probe in a detail manner and questioned the nearby residents; however, it was yet to issue a written statement regarding the cause of his death.

It sent shockwaves into the district administration. Div Com, D M, I G, and all other high officials have reached the spot.
For the last few days, it was reported that the ADM was ill. His family members hails from Kanpur and this sad news has been communicated to them. The body is under the police custody with further investigation in the process.

Officer Singh, Farrukhabad, was posted at Ayodhya from Jaunpur. It is reported that Surjit Singh came to take over the charge of ADM Law and Order in Ayodhya on 25 Oct 2023. He has been placed in the newly allotted duty after promotion from SDM.
The family left for Ayodhya from Kanpur, on getting the news of the incident.

Meanwhile, the police have taken the body into its custody. As of now, it remains to be seen whether it was a case of suicide or homicide. Police said the cause of death would be clear once the investigation and post-mortem report are completed.

ADM Surjit Singh was going to retire in December.
