Kiran P. Gosavi, Narcotics Control Bureau's 'Panch-Witness' in Aryan Khan drugs case was arrested by the Anti Extortion Cell (AEC) of Pune Police on Thursday.
Mumbai-based private detective Gosavi was on the run after a lookout notice was issued against him. He has been charged with several cheating cases and extortion allegations. He is also the prime witness of the NCB in the October 2 cruise party raids.
Absconder Gosavi was being hunted by three special teams of Pune Police. He was nabbed on the outskirts of Pune,in Katraj at around 3.30 a.m on Thursday by the AEC. He was arrested after being reported missing for nearly three weeks.
Kiran Gosavi is being kept in Pune police headquarters after his arrest where all the post-arrest formalities are being completed.
"Let me make it clear. We have arrested him, he has not surrendered," said Amitabh Gupta, Pune police commissioner. The police officer further disclosed that Gosavi had taken use of Sachin Patel's alias and stayed in the different places while he sneaked into hiding. "Let's not get into details at this stage," Gupta added.
The accused, nabbed in an old case registered in 2018, has been claiming to be a private detective, into an export-import business, dealing in electronic gadgets, etc, but Pune Police said all this would be investigated.
Gosavi, with cases lodged against him in Mumbai, Thane and Pune had sneaked out of the state reportedly moving to Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand.
Facing a lookout notice, just two days ago he created a midnight drama in Lucknow by announcing his surrender before the Mandiaon Police, but the move was aborted at the last minute.

Gosavi is also required by the NCB vigilance team in Mumbai to record his statements in the probe into the alleged corruption charges against Mumbai Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede.
