The 'voluntary statement' of Aryan, made under NDPS Act, 1985, Sec 67, before Ashish Ranjan, IO, is part of the final complaint lodged before the Special NDPS Court by the NCB on Friday (May 27), and came to light hours after the superstar-son was exonerated from the case. He claimed that at that time, he was suffering from certain sleep disorders and he had read articles on the Internet informing Ganja (also known as bhaang, pot, grass, etc) could help.

Special NDPS Judge V.V. Patil accepted the plea by the Special Public Prosecutor Advait Sethna that there were certain compelling reasons for seeking extra time to file the chargesheet. These include non-cooperation by the accused in revealing their passwords, the need to record afresh the statement of a 'witness' K.P. Gosavi who is himself accused of corruption and cheating, and currently in custody of Pune Police, and time to record the statements of 15 suspects.

Soon after certain reports surfaced, NCB Deputy Director-General Sanjay Singh and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) issued a statement claiming that "the media reports are not true and they are just speculalions", since "the investigation is not yet complete". Singh added that "these reports were not cross-checked with the NCB, and it would be premature to say anything at this stage".

Delivering the detailed 14-page order, Justice Nitin Sambre said that considering the material brought on record by the NCB, the court has not found that prima facie, there was no positive evidence against the accused trio. It may be recalled that Khan, Dhamecha and Merchant were granted conditional bail by the high court on October 28 vide a speaking order and the detailed order was made available only today.

The Maharastra Minister posted a series of tweets saying Harshada Dinanath Redkar's name was listed as 'respondent and advocate' in a 2008 case registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, in a Pune Court and he also embedded ‘proof’ of his claim. The minister further said that Harshada is the sister of Marathi actress Kranti Dinanath Redkar, the second wife of Wankhede.

Sanjay Singh is leading the newly constituted Special Investigation Team (SIT) which has been set up to investigate the six cases related to the cruise ship drugs burst including the Aryan Khan case lodged with the Mumbai Zonal office. All further developments and investigations in these cases will be held under Sanjay Singh, the 1996 batch IPS officer.

The Bombay HC has granted them bail on certain conditions which also included the weekly 3-hour attendance with the probe agency on Fridays. Aryan, Munmun, and Arbaaz arrived separately at the NCB office and were quickly taken inside by the top officials present there.
