Army Reports: Uri Infiltration Attempt Targets Peace and Election Process in J&K

On Saturday, the Army disclosed that a thwarted infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector had clear intentions of disrupting peace and the electoral process in Kashmir.

"Prior to this operation, various intelligence agencies had provided significant inputs regarding the intentions of terrorist groups to infiltrate across the LoC in Uri Sector. Consequently, the surveillance and counter-infiltration measures were bolstered."

"In the early hours of April 5, our surveillance teams near the LoC detected the movement of a group of terrorists heading towards the LoC. Our forces meticulously tracked their movements and engaged them in a fierce exchange of gunfire."
