Who can be infected?
Patients who have comorbidities or are on immuno-suppressants may be at a greater risk of contracting the infection.

How severe it is?
It is certainly more severe than black and white fungus because, unlike the previously mentioned infections which attack the skin and other visible human parts, the yellow fungus attacks the inner organs. This increases the chances of deaths as the infection can go unnoticed for a long time.

What are its symptoms?
The symptoms start with internal organ problems, causing pus leakage, slowing the healing of wounds, causing organ failure, and at times, acute necrosis.
At the onset of the infection, patients may experience lethargy as it spreads internally, affecting organs and draining people of energy. Patients may even lose appetite or develop poor eating habits, which may eventually result in unusual weight loss, coupled with poor metabolism. In some cases, Yellow Fungus may affect the eyes of the patient. In that case, one must watch out for redness and sunken eyes.

Fungal infections usually spread when an individual inhales moulds found in the environment. While yellow fungus infections could also spread via high levels of humidity or the presence of stale and contaminated food, poor hygiene and unclean conditions remain the main reasons for the infection.
