Roshni Nadar Malhotra is the chairperson of HCL Technologies, and continues to be the richest woman in India, according to the 'Leading Wealthy Women 2021' report published by Hurun India and Kotak Private Banking. Roshni has a net worth of ₹84,330 crore.
Roshni Nadar is also the first woman to lead a listed Indian IT firm, after her father stepped down. The only child of HCL founder and billionaire industrialist Shiv Nadar, Roshni Nadar, is ranked 52nd on the Forbes World's 100 Most Powerful Women list in 2021.
Roshni worked with Sky News UK and CNN America as a news producer before joining HCL Corp in 2009. She joined HCL Technologies in 2013 and became Vice Chairperson.
In her tenure, HCL backed the purchase of 7 IBM products worth ₹13,740 crore, which was the largest in the history for the New Delhi-based tech services major.
Roshni is a philanthropist and a passionate environmentalist and has established The Habitats Trust in 2018 that works towards protecting India’s natural habitats and its indigenous species.
She has also received several honours and recognition for her work in both aerena- business and philanthropy. In 2014: NDTV Young philanthropist of the Year. In 2015, she received "The World's Most Innovative People Award" for Philanthropic Innovation by The World Summit on Innovation & Entrepreneurship (WSIE) and in 2017, she was conferred with Vogue India Philanthropist of the Year.
Roshni Nadar Malhotra studied at Vasant Valley School, Delhi and graduated in communication with a focus in radio/TV/film from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. She also pursued an MBA from Kellogg School of Management. Roshni is a trained classical musician and is married to Shikhar Malhotra, vice chairman of HCL Healthcare. The couple is blessed with two sons, Armaan and Jahaan Malhotra.
