West Creates Avengers Due to Lack of Superheroes Like Chhatrapati Shivaji and Sambhaji, says Vicky Kaushal

The National Award-winning actor said that playing a Maratha warrior and the son of the founder of the Maratha empire, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, comes once in a lifetime. "It's a once in a lifetime opportunity for an actor. The whole team has worked very hard on this film. I always say the West feels the need to make films like 'Avengers' because they don't have those kinds of superheroes that we have.

Actor Vicky Kaushal, who spoke on Tuesday, said that this is the reason filmmakers in the West make films like "Avengers" because they don't have "real superheroes" like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. He feels it's an absolute honor for himself to play the character of Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj for the upcoming film "Chhaava." Helmed by Laxman Utekar, this period drama is all set to release on December 6.

He further added, "If we look into the history of India, we will find so many superheroes like Sambhaji, Chhatrapati Shivaji that all other superheroes will fail in front of them. It's important to tell such stories and celebrate with people. We are proud of them. It's because of their valour and sacrifice that we are able to live in this beautiful country."

The official first look of "Chhaava" was dropped on social media on Monday after it was teased in theatres with Maddock Films' recent release "Stree 2."
