A bench comprising A.S. Boppana and M.M. Sundresh said that Latha Rajinikanth should either file an application seeking discharge or face the trial proceedings. 

Revealing his poster, the production has also announced the beginning of its shoot.

The superstar's remarks came following criticisms for touching feet of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during his recent visit to the state. Rajinikanth while speaking to reporters on his return back from Uttar Pradesh said that he respects monks and that he did not find anything wrong in touching the feet of monks who are even younger to him.

Discussing the film's potential, trade Analyst Ramesh Bala told IANS: "The Rs 100 crore opening was not a full out surprise as 'Jailer' was expected to explode in the five Southern states, particularly in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and the Telugu speaking states.
