He narrated their conversation in which the boys informed him, "Sir, you are a lucky man. You departed Pakistan at the right time. We also wish to change our nationality. We abhor our army. They destroyed our nation!" To this Mr. Sami said, "I knew so long ago!"

Born in the UK to a Pakistani father and an Indian mother, Mr. Sami migrated to India in 2001. Initially he had a visitor's visa and dual citizenship (Pakistan and Canada), but officially became an Indian citizen in 2016. Ever since then, he has been outspoken about many things, particularly issues pertaining to Pakistan.

This article came after the gruesome Pahalgam attack left 26 dead and was reported as the worst attack in Kashmir since the Pulwama attack in 2019. Mr. Sami and others decried the attack as a "horrific crime against humanity."

Following the attack, he engaged in a public altercation with Pakistani politician Fawad Chaudhry, who was then Pakistan's former Information and Broadcasting Minister. Following India's order for Pakistani citizens to depart the nation, a journalist made reference to the action on social media, to which Mr. Chaudhry reacted by sending a tweet inquiring, "What about Adnan Sami?"

Mr. Sami swiftly shot back, "Who's going to tell this illiterate idiot!"

He also personally attacked Mr. Chaudhry, labeling him a "dumba**" and said, "My roots are from Peshawar, not Lahore. To think that you were Minister of (Mis) Information and have no knowledge about any information!"

In 2022, Mr. Sami underlined that he did not harbor malice towards the Pakistani nation but had serious complaints against the government. "I have major issues with the establishment," he posted on Instagram.

He went on, "People who really know me will also know what that institution did to me for years, which ultimately became one of the major reasons for me to quit Pakistan. One day, soon, I will reveal the truth of how they treated me, which not many are aware of, least of all the general public. It will shock many."
