Drawing from Mendoza's memory of a pivotal 2006 Iraqi mission, Warfare provides a suspenseful account of the experience. Mendoza, a former military consultant for Garland's 2023 film Civil War, lends realism to the narrative.

Acting in the midst of insurgent territory, the movie tracks an elite Navy SEAL team as they venture on a perilous surveillance mission that quickly derails into pandemonium.

Based on first-person experiences and factual realities, Warfare presents an undiluted view of the hard-hitting brutality of war with the emphasis upon the strong esprit de corps that develops amongst combatants at the battlefield level, as read in the official synopsis.

This film has a brilliant cast consisting of Charles Melton, Will Poulter, D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Joseph Quinn, Cosmo Jarvis, Kit Connor, Taylor John Smith, Finn Bennett, Noah Centineo, and Michael Gandolfini.
