Varun Dhawan Cast in Sunny Deol’s 'Border' Sequel

Dhawan took to Instagram and shared his excitement for the project as he revealed that the sequel would be directed by Anurag Singh. The actor was seen recalling how the original 1997 film, helmed by JP Dutta, had affected him. In fact, it was a massive success and still holds a huge place in Indian cinema. JP Dutta now produces the sequel along with Bhushan Kumar, who has had a great influence on Dhawan.

Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan announced on Friday that he would star with Sunny Deol in the forthcoming sequel of the cult film "Border."

Dhawan took to Instagram and shared his excitement for the project as he revealed that the sequel would be directed by Anurag Singh. The actor was seen recalling how the original 1997 film, helmed by JP Dutta, had affected him. In fact, it was a massive success and still holds a huge place in Indian cinema. JP Dutta now produces the sequel along with Bhushan Kumar, who has had a great influence on Dhawan.

Dhawan further goes on to remember his student days when he had watched "Border" and said that it stirred the patriotic feeling in him. He expressed admiration for the armed forces and in the line of protection, be it on the front lines or during crises.
 

He added that it would be a "special moment" in his career and called Sunny Deol his hero. He is excited to be a part of what will possibly be India's biggest war film, and asks for the blessings of his fans, signing off with a patriotic "Jai Hind."

Other than this humongous project, Dhawan will appear in Kalees' "Baby John," which is going to be released in December, and "Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari", which will again see him paired with his "Bawaal" co-star Janhvi Kapoor.

Sunny Deol, who also had a successful comeback last year with "Gadar 2", will appear in Rajkumar Santoshi's "Lahore 1947" opposite Preity Zinta. This film is produced by Aamir Khan under his banner, Aamir Khan Productions.
