The teaser for "Sikandar," initially scheduled for release today, December 27, to mark Salman Khan’s 59th birthday, has been delayed.
The postponement comes in light of the passing of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on December 26. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the action thriller is now set to premiere online on December 28 at 11:07 AM, as announced by the official X handle of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
It goes on to say, "In view of the sad demise of our revered former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Ji, we are sad to announce that the teaser of Sikandar is being delayed and will now release on 28th December at 11:07 AM."
Sajid Nadiadwala's highly-anticipated magnum opus, "Sikandar," recently unveiled its first-look poster on social media. This Sajid Nadiadwala production, directed by A.R. Murugadoss, combines action, drama, and emotion.
The Central government declared seven days of national mourning on Friday in honor of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who passed away at the age of 92 on December 26.
Seven days of national mourning will be held all over India till January 1, 2025, the Ministry of Home Affairs has announced in a notification addressed to the chief secretaries of all states and Union Territories in respect of the late former Prime Minister.
The last rites of the former prime minister will be performed with full state honours.
The hospital confirmed the news of the death of Dr. Singh late on Thursday night.
According to the statement of the hospital, "It is with profound grief that we report the passing of former Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, who was 92 years of age. He was receiving treatment for age-related health conditions and suffered a sudden loss of consciousness at his home on December 26.
He was resuscitated within minutes of his loss of consciousness at his home and was brought to the emergency department of AIIMS. However, all attempts to revive him proved unsuccessful, and he was declared dead at 9.51 p.m."
