Rihanna Remembers Her Mother’s Perfume Shop Days

“She used to always bring home the testers when they were almost empty, so there was always a bottle in the house. I have always loved this perfume,” she added.

Rihanna recently shared an Instagram post sharing a nostalgic memory from the good old days when her mother used to work at a perfume store, bringing home testers when they were just about to run out. "My mom worked in a perfume shop," she told Vogue magazine, adding how she would come home with testers when they were almost running out.

“She used to always bring home the testers when they were almost empty, so there was always a bottle in the house. I have always loved this perfume,” she added.

Rihanna has long been a fan of Dior and became the first Black ambassador for the luxury brand. Those seeds were sown all the way back in January when she made her debut at Dior's couture spring 2024 show during Couture Week.

It was in June that Rihanna wore the creations of two leading Indian designers—Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Manish Malhotra—for a fashion event for her brand in Los Angeles. The controversy erupted when Malhotra cropped out Sabyasachi's long necklace, focusing on only his choker in the image. That edit gave the impression that Rihanna was wearing only Malhotra's design.

At the event, Rihanna was draped in an all-red ensemble, consisting of an oversized zipper jacket, a skirt, and a camisole. A three-drop rubellite necklace by Sabyasachi and a choker by Manish Malhotra were accessorizing her look. The necklaces, dropping tourmaline crystals with brilliant cut diamonds by Sabyasachi, were designed to be made in 18K gold by Malhotra, accented with custom-cut rubies and diamond embellishments.
