Pop star Britney Spears' ex-husband warned the people behind an upcoming movie based on her memoir not to get too carried away with their imagination.
In a video shared by Entertainment Tonight, he said he hoped that the producers of the film took approval from Britney and her story was represented rightly. While walking the red carpet for the premiere of his latest venture, 'Jackpot!', Sam said, "I just hope they have her consent and do justice to her legacy, which is truly significant.
Britney and Sam Asghari married in June 2022 after six years of dating. The couple began dating in 2016, during the highly publicized battle by Britney to end a conservatorship that had restricted her personal and professional choices. The two confirmed their relationship in 2017 on Instagram, flooding it with posts of dancing and hitting the beaches.
Asghari is an actor and a personal trainer whose romance with Britney entered the public consciousness after her conservatorship formally ended in November 2021.
The two said their "I dos" on June 9, 2022, at their Thousand Oaks, California, home in front of a star-studded guest list that included Madonna, Selena Gomez, Paris Hilton, and Drew Barrymore. There were many outfit changes from Britney throughout the event, and her song 'Toxic' was even played during the reception.
However, the marriage has ended only 14 months after Britney wed Sam, court records in Los Angeles confirmed. The divorce petition filed by Sam cited irreconcilable differences and was filed the same day that Britney had announced on Instagram that she would "be buying a horse soon."
There have been reports that the couple had arguments regularly and even exchange blows, while Sam also claimed that Britney had been unfaithful.
