Global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas is officially back in the much-loved superhero world of Krrish, reprising screen space with Hrithik Roshan in the franchise's fourth installment.
The two have already collaborated on hits in the past such as Krrish, Krrish 3, and Agneepath. Their on-screen rapport has always managed to win over audiences, making this reunion one of the most eagerly awaited moves in Indian cinema.
A source from the production quipped, "The buzz for Krrish 4 is increasing day by day and the project is not even on the floors yet! This is one titan of a project and Hrithik appears to have bigger plans to make it one of the biggest films to have been ever made in Indian cinema."
Highlighting the importance of Priyanka's comeback, the source further stated, "There is a huge development that Hrithik Roshan has brought Priyanka Chopra Jonas aboard in the film! Hrithik and Priyanka are one of the most favorite on-screen couples in Indian cinema history and they are back to entertain fans again in Krrish 4! It is huge news!"
The release of Krrish 4 was earlier announced in April, when it was officially declared that Hrithik Roshan will be making his directorial debut with the film. It's a huge moment for the franchise, with long-time director Rakesh Roshan passing on the mantle to his son.
Directed by Yash Raj Films in association with Rakesh Roshan, the next installment will have Hrithik balancing duties both in front of and behind the camera, playing the title superhero once again as well as directing the film. The shoot is expected to begin early next year.
In a statement, Rakesh Roshan said, “I’m passing the baton of the director of Krrish 4 to my son, Hrithik Roshan, who has lived, breathed and dreamt about this franchise since its inception with me! Hrithik has a clear and a very ambitious vision of taking Krrish’s journey forward with the audience for the next decades.”
He also expressed his pride over this changeover: "I couldn't be more proud to see him don the director's cap for a film that means the world to us as a family. Krrish has amused fans all across the globe and Hrithik will now open the next pages of this superhero series and take the vision I conceptualized so many years ago to even newer heights."
