And not just that, the makers are expanding the OTT universe with a 'Mirzapur' film with yet another fresh storyline on its horizon, and there is a reason for the fans to rejoice, it's the return of Munna Bhaiyya by actor Divyenndu in the series.
The creators on Monday announced the 'Mirzapur' film. It is produced by Puneet Krishna and directed by Gurmmeet Singh and will hit the screens in 2026. The iconic characters of Mirzapur, Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi), Guddu Pandit (Ali Fazal), and Munna Tripathi (Divyenndu) will be featured in it. The series also featured the Compounder, played by Abhishek Banerjee, along with other artists.
Talking about expanding the universe of 'Mirzapur' into a film, producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar of Excel Entertainment said, "It is a landmark milestone for us to bring the quintessential Mirzapur experience to our audiences, yet again, but this time on the big screen.". It is over three successful seasons of this critically acclaimed franchise, which has hit all the right chords with the fans through powerful storytelling and memorable characters, such as Kaleen Bhaiya, Guddu Bhaiya, and Munna Bhaiya, to name a few.
They further added, "We feel that bringing this much-loved series to the big screen will definitely make for an even more riveting watch, enabling audiences to dive deeper into the world of Mirzapur than ever before. We are excited to partner with Prime Video once again and look forward to delivering a grand cinematic experience that will truly live up to the expectations of our dedicated fanbase.".
