Folk singer Sharda Sinha is on oxygen support after a health complication due to cancer, said an AIIMS official. Sinha (72), who has been suffering from multiple myeloma since 2017, is in the ICU of the Institute Rotary Cancer Hospital (IRCH), the cancer institute of AIIMS.
"Sharda Sinha is hemodynamically stable but on constant monitoring. She has been suffering from multiple myeloma since 2017," said Dr Rima Dada, professor in charge of AIIMS media cell. This is after news broke that the singer's husband, Braj Kishore Sinha, died after he had suffered a brain hemorrhage from falling.
Whether it is songs in Maithili, Bhojpuri, or Magahi languages, the Padma Bhushan awardee is a big draw among the households of the state. She has sung folk songs to be an integral part of the Chhath festival. She has also rendered some superhit Bollywood movies "Gangs of Wasseypur-2, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun," and "Maine Pyar Kiya."
