Bollywood Actor Arjun Kapoor has finally opened up about the criticism directed towards him and his girlfriend Actress Malaika Arora for the 12-year age difference the couple has. Kapoor said that the people who troll him on social media are the same people who are dying to take a selfie with him. Elaborating further he said that what he does in his personal life is his prerogative.
The Bollywood actor made these remarks while speaking to Masala.com. They made their relationship official a few years ago in 2019 and have been one of the most talked-about couple ever since. It has been a treat to witness the lovey-dovey couple and their adorable moments together but they have certainly received criticism over the age difference. Arjun and Malaika have a 12 year age gap as Kapoor is 36 and the latter is 48.
“Firstly, I think that the media is the one who goes through the comments from people. We don’t even look at 90% of it so the trolling cannot be given so much importance, because it’s all fake. Those same people will be dying to take a selfie with me when they meet me, so you cannot believe that narrative,” Arjun Kapoor said.
The actor further said that as long as people take notice of his work, all the other things are 'just a lot of noise'. He also said that it is 'silly' to 'contextualise a relationship' on the basis of age. Arjun clearly marked a line and said what he does in his private life is his right.
"We should just live, let live and move on," he added.
The couple also shared an unseen picture of them from a beach vacation for new year's wishes. Arjun's post read: “As the dust settles on 2021 (clearly the virus refuses to so something must), we just wanna wish all of you a happy & very pouty 2022 ahead!!!”
The actor is currently working in Mohit Suri’s Ek Villain Returns and he will be seen alongside John Abraham, Tara Sutaria, and Disha Patani in the film. In addition to this, he is also starring in Vishal Bhardwaj’s son Aasmaan Bhardwaj's upcoming film Kuttey. Kuttey has a rich star cast with the film including Bollywood actors stars Naseeruddin Shah, Konkona Sensharma, Tabu, and Radhika Madan.
