Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor recently opened up about the heart-wrenching moment she learned about her mother, the legendary actress Sridevi's sudden passing. Speaking on the streaming chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’ alongside her sister Khushi Kapoor, Janhvi shared the poignant details of that distressing day.
Recalling the tragic moment to show host Karan Johar, Janhvi expressed, “I was in my room when I received the call, and the sounds of anguish from Khushi's room were unmistakable. I rushed into her room, overwhelmed with tears, but what stands out vividly is her reaction. As soon as she looked at me, her crying ceased. She immediately sat by my side, comforting me. I haven't seen her shed a tear over it since then.”
Khushi, reflecting on that time, shared, "I felt the need to remain composed for everyone because I've always seen myself as the pillar of strength."
Sridevi's sudden demise in February 2018 in Dubai came as a shock to the family. They were in Dubai to attend a family wedding when Sridevi, planning to spend some time shopping for Janhvi's 21st birthday, tragically passed away due to accidental drowning. The loss deeply impacted the family, and Janhvi and Khushi's recollections on the show shed light on their strength during such a challenging period.
