The actress also delved into her professional journey, noting that a significant portion of her roles revolves around motherhood, divorce, abandonment, or characters dealing with various facets of parenthood. Reflecting on her desire for motherhood, Cruz shared, "Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted kids. But I knew I wanted them older. I wanted to wait until I felt I was ready. I was sure it would be the most important thing I would do in my life.”

In a previous interview with CBS Sunday Morning in December 2021, Cruz expressed concerns about the impact of social media on children's developing brains. She hinted at her inclination to delay her kids' entry into the realm of social media until they reach the age of 16, emphasizing the lack of protection for young minds and the potential influence on self-perception and bullying.
