Actress Sofia Vergara has taken legal action to protect herself and her son Manolo Gonzalez Vergara from an alleged stalker, obtaining a temporary restraining order against Gregory Brown.
The 'Modern Family' star, aged 51, sought court intervention due to what she described as Brown's "aggressive and harassing conduct," per reports from Female First UK. In legal documents obtained by TMZ.com, Sofia referred to Brown as a "mentally unstable stalker" who believes in a personal connection with her and her family, causing her anxiety and emotional distress, instilling fear for her safety.
Sofia detailed multiple attempts by Brown to contact her and her son, including an incident where he gained unauthorized access to her gated community in July. Additionally, she reported receiving a troubling letter from Brown, signed as "Gangsta," expressing intentions of "seeing and hearing her very soon."
A judge granted a temporary restraining order, mandating Brown to maintain a distance of at least 100 yards from Sofia and her son and prohibiting any form of contact with them.
This development has come during a challenging time for Sofia, who acknowledged experiencing a "very difficult" year. Alongside the distress caused by Brown's behavior, Sofia navigated the emotional strain of her July separation from partner Joe Manganiello. She noted the year's oddities, including the prolonged SAG strike, which impacted her and her friends significantly.
Despite the challenges, Sofia holds an optimistic outlook for the future, expressing her excitement and anticipation for what lies ahead in the coming year.
