Is 'Ghajini 2' in the Works? Aamir Khan and Allu Aravind Drop Subtle Hints

Aamir Khan recently attended the trailer launch of Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi's "Thandel". On the event, Mr Perfectionist and ace South producer Allu Aravind gave a huge hint on the much-discussed sequel, "Ghajini 2".

The news is doing rounds for some time that Allu Aravind is planning to make the sequel in both Tamil and Hindi. If the reports are to be believed, Suriya will play the lead role in the Tamil version of "Ghajini 2", while Aamir Khan will be roped in for the Hindi rendition.

Produced by A. R. Murugadoss, the 2008 action thriller "Ghajini" was the director's first film; it also marked the Bollywood debut of the filmmaker. The movie released theatrically on 25th December 2008 and was then both the Indian box office biggest grosser of the year and the first Bollywood film to cross the ?100 crore mark.

"Ghajini" speaks about a wealthy business tycoon, Sanjay Singhania (Aamir Khan) who suffers from short-term memory loss due to being hit by a metal pole during an attempt to save his girlfriend Kalpana Shetty (Asin).

On the other hand, Tamil version of "Thandel" trailer was launched by superstar Karthi, whereas Aamir Khan was the chief guest at the trailer launch event.

Helmed by Chandoo Mondeti, the movie will hit the theaters on 7th February 2025 in various languages. This project was produced by Bunny Vasu under Geetha Arts and is presented by Allu Aravind. Starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles, the film also stars Prakash Belawadi, and Karunakaran in other pivotal roles.

"Thandel" is a description of the terrorizing experiences that fishermen from Srikakulam had as they drifted by mistake into the waters of Pakistan while on routine fishing.
