Housefull 5 Poised to Shatter Box‑Office Records, Says Producer Sajid Nadiadwala

The movie was produced on a production cost of ₹225 crore, with an added ₹15 crore for prints and promotions, making the entire cost to be ₹240 crore.

Sajid Nadiadwala's recent comedy entertainer Housefull 5, with a star cast of Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan, has proved to be a sheer box office hit.

The movie was produced on a production cost of ₹225 crore, with an added ₹15 crore for prints and promotions, making the entire cost to be ₹240 crore. Though the budget was huge, the movie has easily slipped into the profit zone, owing to a smart combination of theatricals and pre-release business.

Even before reaching the big screen, Housefull 5 was able to bring in ₹175 crore via different non-theatrical sources. This comprised ₹90 crore from its digital rights, ₹55 crore from satellite broadcast distribution deals, and ₹30 crore through music rights.

With only ₹65 crore remaining to be recovered from its box office collections, the movie soon crossed expectations. It has already crossed a global box office gross of ₹227.7 crore—which is well above the ₹150 crore needed to make a profit.
