Grammys 2025: Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé, and Charli XCX Shine with Major Wins

The rapper Kendrick Lamar received five honours for 'Not Like Us' as Beyoncé and Charli XCX won three honours each at the 67th Grammy Award. The ceremony was hosted by Trevor Noah.

Lamar's "Not Like Us" swept five Grammy awards in the categories of record of the year, song of the year, rap performance, best rap song and the best music video categories, making the Compton-bred rapper a 22-time Grammy winner.

His first wins were announced during the premiere ceremony before the prime-time telecast on Sunday night. The producer behind the hit, DJ Mustard, won the first awards on Lamar's behalf as an audience in the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles erupted in thunderous applause.

Beyonce took the lead at night with 11 Grammy nominations, a career high, for her country album "Cowboy Carter." Years of missing out on album of the year, she finally took home the trophy along with best country album and best country duo/group performance for "II Most Wanted" featuring Miley Cyrus, reports deadline.com.

Lamar, Billie Eilish, Post Malone, and Charli XCX also received seven each, while Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, and Sabrina Carpenter received six.

Charli XCX won awards for dance pop recording for "Von Dutch," dance electronic album for "Brat" and best recording package.

Sabrina Carpenter bagged the prize for best pop solo performance with "Espresso" and best pop vocal album, while Roan was also named best new artist.

For the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, the winner was Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars for "Die With a Smile."

Best Pop Vocal Album also went to Carpenter for "Short n' Sweet." Here, she was facing stiff competition from Billie Eilish for "Hit Me Hard and Soft", "Eternal Sunshine" by Ariana Grande's, Chappell Roan's "The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess and "The Tortured Poets Department" by Taylor Swift.

Indian-American vocalist Chandrika Tandon won the Grammys for album Triveni in the category of Best New Age, Ambient or Chant Album. This is a prestigeous win from Ricky Kej and Anoushka Shankar.

In the award ceremony, Chandrika shared the laurels with two other artists collaborating with her--South African flautist Wouter Kellerman and Japanese cellist Eru Matsumoto.
