Before the highly awaited release of one of India's most-watched reality television franchises, makers of Bigg Boss released the charged trailer of Season 19 on Thursday, giving fans a peek into a dramatically reimagined show.
In this season, the theme 'Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar' brings a new bold story, placing the Bigg Boss house within a Parliament-like environment—representing a significant shake-up in authority structures.
For the first time on the show, contestants will be completely free to make decisions—big or small. Complementing this significant twist, the trailer has Salman Khan reprise his hosting role, taking up a more authoritative position in the midst of rising tension of a house that has become a democracy.
Promising a show that reflects the turmoil and hue of modern India, the new season combines the ingredients of power tussles, politics based on human connect and unanticipated turns—qualities of Bigg Boss.
Joining him in the excitement of the new format, Salman Khan added, "Bigg Boss ka har season alag hota hai, lekin iss baar toh scene hi palat gaya hai. 'Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar' ka matlab hai power unke haath mein aur jab power milti hai, toh asli chehre saamne aate hain. Is baar contestants ko apne decisions lene ka poora haq diya gaya hai, par har decision ke saath ek consequence bhi aata hai."
He continued, "Main hamesha kehta hoon, tameez se khelo, par yeh log tameez chhod ke drama le aate hain. They're going to try to do this season their way, but when things get out of control, you know who's coming back to set the record straight!"
Alok Jain of JioStar echoed the excitement, stating, “Bigg Boss has always delivered high-impact entertainment. With ‘Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar’, we’re bringing a fresh, unfiltered format that resonates deeply with audiences and keeps them coming back for more. This season puts power in the hands of the housemates, setting the stage for drama, unpredictability, and non-stop engagement. It’s Bigg Boss like you’ve never seen before.”
Bigg Boss 19 is ready for its launch on August 24, which will air on JioHotstar at 9 PM and on COLORS at 10:30 PM.
