The release of the still coincided with the 2nd anniversary of Akshay Kumar's film 'Sooryavanshi,' which played a significant role in revitalizing the theatrical business after the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions following the second wave of the pandemic. The film's success marked a pivotal moment for the Indian film industry and theatergoers as cinemas began to recover from the impact of the pandemic.

Superstar director Rohit Shetty also shared the still on his Instagram as he wrote: "In Singham Again, we are just doing what our fans want us to do! So here it is…Akshay Kumar and a helicopter! As we complete 2 years of Sooryavanshi, VEER SOORYAVANSHI joins the battle with Singham."

Rohit Shetty has established a cop universe in Bollywood with three of his major films: 'Singham', 'Simmba', and 'Sooryavanshi,' featuring Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, and Akshay Kumar, respectively. The narratives and character arcs from each film are now set to interconnect and extend the cop universe.

The shooting for 'Singham Again' began in September of this year, with Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor Khan also joining the cast. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, a star couple who have both become part of the cop universe, recently shared their looks from 'Singham Again.' While Ranveer has been a part of the cop universe with his film 'Simmba' and later with Akshay's 'Sooryavanshi,' Deepika is a new addition to the universe. The actress wrote in the caption: “Introducing…Shakti Shetty.” in a set of images.

The first picture, released on the first day of Navratri, made a powerful reference to Goddess Durga, with Deepika portraying a strong and fierce image akin to Durga slaying Mahishasur at her feet.

In another picture, Deepika is seen laughing with the barrel of a gun resting on her forehead. She is also wearing bandages on her hands.

Deepika was announced to be a part of the 'Singham Again' cast, where she will be playing the role of a cop, during a press event for her husband Ranveer Singh's film 'Cirkus' in Mumbai last year.
