Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the movie is a sequel to the 2012 blockbuster Son of Sardaar.

The first Son of Sardaar, under the direction of Ashwni Dhir, had an all-star cast of Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, and the late Mukul Dev. The plot had Jaswinder "Jassi" Singh Randhawa (played by Devgn) going from London to his own village in Punjab to sell off family property that he had inherited, but getting entangled in a series of unexpected events.
It was a commercial hit, garnering a global gross of ₹161.48 crore.
