Ira Khan, the daughter of Bollywood icon Aamir Khan, has embraced the traditional path to matrimony, officially signing the marriage registration document in Mumbai on Wednesday. Now legally wedded, the couple is set to partake in a series of traditional festivities in Udaipur, the lake city.
The ceremonial proceedings are scheduled to unfold at the Taj Aravali Resort on Kodiyat Road in Udaipur, spanning from January 8 to 10. All 176 rooms of the resort have been reserved for the approximately 250 guests, which include Bollywood celebrities and close family members.
This wedding celebration is designed as an intimate family affair, with relatives participating in various functions. Following the Udaipur festivities, the newlyweds will return to Mumbai for a reception at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre on January 13.
Nupur Shikhare, Ira's now-husband, proposed in 2022 and serves as the official fitness trainer for both Ira and Aamir Khan. The pre-wedding events commenced with a Haldi ceremony on Tuesday, and the couple made their union official on Wednesday night by signing the marriage registration document at Taj Lands End in Mumbai's Bandra area.
In a departure from tradition, Nupur jogged to the wedding venue from Santacruz, adding a touch of spontaneity and energy to the ceremony. Ira shared the first picture with her husband on Thursday, capturing the joyous moments of their newfound marital bliss.
