Wendy's to open 250 Cloud kitchens in tie-up with Rebel Foods

A cloud kitchen is the one that doesn't offer dine-in facility and accepts food orders only through the online ordering system. 

American fast-food restaurant chain, Wendy's has joined hands with food tech company Rebel Foods to develop and operate about 250 Cloud kitchens in India.

To expand their presence in India, Wendy's has come up with a plan to partner Rebel Foods with Sierra Nevada Restaurants to open the kitchens and Sierra will also develop 150 traditional Wendy's restaurants in the country. Sierra was the one to launch Wendy's in India first in 2015 and operates 4 traditional restaurants and 5 cloud kitchens in the NCR region. 

"This is a game-changing partnership. Rebel Foods, Wendy's and the Sierra Nevada all believe in quality, speed and the convenience that comes from multiple channels," said Kallol Banerjee, co-founder of Rebel Foods. 
Rebel Foods is the world's largest operator of online restaurants with over 300 cloud kitchens across India, UAE, South East Asia and the UK.

And with the outbreak of the pandemic, facilities like cloud kitchens are bound to prosper in view of the impact on restaurant business with the incoming of new, hygienic and trustworthy technologies.
