Vodafone Idea, burdened with debt, has slapped demand orders issued by different GST offices to pay over Rs 73 crore on account of tax dues with penalty and interest, a regulatory filing said on Monday. The company received nine such orders from different GST offices, mainly for allegedly making short payment of taxes and availing excess input tax credit.
The Kolkata office of the GST has imposed the highest penalty of Rs 33.44 crore on the company.
