Swiggy Shares Plunge Over 43% in 2025, Hit 52-Week Low

Swiggy's shares fell to a 52-week low during trading on Friday before making a modest recovery to close at ₹305.4 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), down ₹11 or 3.48%.

The stock of the company has been facing consistent pressure downwards, with a 5.4% fall being recorded over the last three sessions—indicating increasing investor worry.

In the past five days alone, Swiggy's share price has fallen by ₹17.85, representing a 5.52% loss. The downward trend is even sharper in the longer term.

The past month has seen the stock drop by ₹39.20 or 11.38%, whereas the six-month trend reveals a sharper drop of ₹150.6, which represents a 33.03% decline.

So far in 2025, the share price has fallen by ₹236.95, representing a sharp 43.69% downturn. Over the past year, the drop matches the six-month figure—₹150.6 or 33.03%—highlighting prolonged weakness in investor sentiment.

Despite Swiggy’s struggles, the broader Indian equity markets closed higher on Friday, ending the week on a positive note despite fluctuations during the session.

The BSE Sensex hit an intraday high of 81,177.93 before closing the day at 80,501.99, a rise of 259.75 points or 0.32%. The NSE Nifty too made steady gains to close 12.50 points above at 24,346.70, having traded between 24,238.50 and 24,589.15 during the day.

On the business front, Swiggy announced a significant move on Friday to widen its quick-delivery food business, 'Bolt by Swiggy'. The October 2024-launched service has now been expanded to more than 500 cities across the country.

Within five months, Bolt has become responsible for contributing over 10% of Swiggy's total food delivery volume, as stated by the company.

Swiggy Food Marketplace CEO Rohit Kapoor said: "It's impossible not to love Bolt when your food comes faster, hotter and just the way it's supposed to be enjoyed. What makes it tick isn't the speed alone -- it's the underlying solid operations."
