Supreme Court Summons Ramdev and Balkrishna in Patanjali Advertising Controversy

Justices Hima Kohli and Ahsanuddin Amanullah expressed strong displeasure at the company and Balkrishna's failure to respond to earlier notices from the court, which questioned why contempt proceedings shouldn't be initiated against them for apparently breaching their commitments to the court.

The Supreme Court has summoned yoga guru Ramdev and Patanjali Ayurved's Managing Director Acharya Balkrishna to appear before it in a contempt case regarding the advertisement and medicinal claims of the company's products.

Additionally, Ramdev has been served notice to explain why contempt proceedings should not be initiated against him.

This development stems from a petition filed by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), accusing Ramdev of running a smear campaign against the vaccination efforts and modern medicine.
