PM Modi on Monday launched e-RUPI, a person and purpose-specific digital payment solution that is aimed to push government's vaccination efforts presently and other welfare measures later on. The prime minister called it a "revolutionary step" in the direction of guaranteeing leak-proof delivery of social services. Government and commercial enterprises may utilise the new digital payment system (e-voucher) to offer particular advantages such as immunizations to those in need. PM Modi pointed out that apart from the government, if any other organisation wants to help someone in their treatment, education or for any other work, it can give an e-RUPI voucher instead of cash. The prime minister also added that the government has saved Rs 1.78 lakh crore so far by stopping theft and filtering out false beneficiaries through the use of technology to distribute cooking gas subsidies, ration money, and other social security programmes directly to bank accounts of beneficiaries.
Here are the 10 Key benefits of e-RUPI:
1.Not just the government, but any general organisation or organisation that want to assist someone in their treatment, education, or any other job will be able to do so using e-RUPI rather than cash.
2.The e-RUPI beneficiary is not required to carry a printout of the voucher. The procedure will be accelerated by a simple two-step redemption process, making the entire experience seamless and hassle-free for clients.

3.This platform, in addition to regular payments, can also be utilised to provide services under other government programmes such as maternal and child welfare, the elimination of tuberculosis, Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, fertiliser subsidies, etc.
4.Through the use of e-Rupi, the privacy of the beneficiary is preserved. In addition, these digital coupons can be utilised by the commercial sector for employee welfare and corporate social responsibility programmes, among others.
5.Some of the other added benefits of this platform includes E-vouchers being delivered to recipients through QR code or SMS string. An app for digital payments or a bank account aren't required for redemption.
6. Due to its pre-paid nature, it ensures prompt payment to the service provider without the participation of any intermediaries.
7. PM Modi described e-Rupi as a sign of how India is growing through linking people's lives with technology. According to Digital India, it may also be utilised to offer services under programmes that provide medications and nutritional support.
8. Because the needed amount is already contained in the voucher, transactions using e-Rupi are faster and more trustworthy.
9. Many banks, including Axis Bank, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Indusind Bank, Indian Bank, Kotak Bank, and Punjab National Bank, are already linked with e-RUPI, making it a possible mainstream contender and boosting its credibility.
